On February 10, 2016 the Council of the Village of Breton enacted a "Business Licence Bylaw". This bylaw is part of the 39/20 Alliance Strategic Plan with the goal of:
  • Creating a business directory for the 39/20 Alliance members, Breton, Warburg, Thorsby and Calmar to promote business to business opportunities while raising the profile of the regions businesses.
  • Issuing Regional Business Licences to qualified businesses to increase inter-community business opportunities, and promote economic development.



Brazeau County including the Village of Breton is currently under a fire advisory. A fire advisory is issued when the fire hazard is moderate to high. Wildfires can start from most accidental causes and spread through dry grass and brush. No new fire permits are being issued.
